Gerard Smith
Gerard Smith comes from a galaxy far, far away. He is from a planet in the galaxy cluster NGC-4571 which astronomers and galactic cartographers from NASA and the ESA (European Space Agency) estimate to be approximately 7.3 million light-years away from our own galaxy, the Milky Way. However, most people don’t really believe this, so for all intents and purposes here, let’s just say that Gerard was born in the greater New York City metropolitan area in a small town across the mighty Hudson River in New Jersey, USA.
Gerard studied acting at the Van Mar Academy of Motion Picture and Television Acting in West Hollywood whilst completing his MBA in International Management and Economics at UCLA – University of California, Los Angeles.
Gerard officially started his acting career in Los Angeles, California. After having been largely unsuccessful back home in New York for 2 consecutive years, Gerard moved out to LA and found a legitimate acting agent on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood (Dale Garrick International).
Gerard quickly earned his way into the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists (AFTRA) having proved himself on numerous productions working with—and learning from—many of the industry greats. A few examples include:
· Blade (Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff , Kris Kristofferson) where he played a vampire;
· The New Adventures of Superman (Dean Kane, Teri Hatcher) where he played a thief;
· Bulworth (Warren Beatty, Halle Berry, Oliver Platt, Don Cheadle) where he played a C-SPAN television cameraman covering U.S. Congressional proceedings;
· Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (Jane Seymour, Joe Lando, Chad Allen, Erika Flores) where he played a Colorado Springs rugged outdoorsman in the 1870s;
· Babylon 5 (Bruce Boxleitner, Claudia Christian, Michael O'Hara, Jeffrey Doyle, Mira Furlan) where he played an intergalactic Bridge Officer;
· Dr. Dolittle (Eddie Murphy, Peter Boyle, Ossie Davis, Chris Rock) where he played an animal rescue paramedic;
· JAG—U.S. Navy acronym for Judge Advocate General—American military legal drama (David James Elliott, Tracy Needham, Catherine Bell, Patrick Labyorteaux) where he played an Air Force Pilot in the Mohave Desert at Edwards Air Force Base, Air Force Test Center, USA;
· ER (Emergency Room)—an American medical drama TV series (George Clooney) where he played a doctor;
· Speed 2: Cruise Control (Sandra Bullock, Jason Patric, Willem Dafoe) where he played a cruise ship passenger;
· Batman & Robin (George Clooney, Chris O'Donnell, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman) where he played a Gotham City Wealthy Investor.
As destiny would have it, Gerard’s acting career in LA came to a screeching halt after his wife at the time conceived their 1st child and the decision was made to move back to Europe and start a family. Gerard worked as a production manager in Switzerland for a few years where he previously met his wife. Gerard is an avid mountain climber, skier and all round outdoorsman. He owned and successfully ran an outdoor-adventure business for many years before coming to the United Kingdom.
Fast forward to the present, Gerard has rekindled his acting career in a very short time since arriving in the UK. In 2014 and 2015, Gerard started off with a bang appearing in:
· Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens where he plays a Lieutenant Colonel in the Rebel Alliance. He is featured in a scene with Admiral Statura (Ken Leung), Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) in front of the Millennium Falcon on a secret Resistance base hidden from the Empire. He is also in numerous scenes in the War Room, one of which is with Admiral Gial Ackbar (Tim Rose) from the ocean world of Mon Calamari;
· SPECTRE 007 where he plays an MI6 secret intelligence service agent Nick Pelham in a scene with James Bond (Daniel Craig), Eve Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Wishaw);
· Black Mirror—a futuristic, dark sci-fi drama—where he plays a priest. In this role Gerard has significant dialogue and marries a couple in front of a crowd of 50+ individuals;
· Egyptian Vice—a documentary film depicting Ancient Egyptian rituals and practices—where he plays Pharaoh Akhenaten alongside his wife and demi-god Queen Nefertiti.
Already in 2016, Gerard has had speaking roles directly with the star actor in both a DC Comics and a Marvel Comics feature film.

Off the set, Gerard has been invited to a number of industry events including launch parties (Mission Impossible) as well as attending the Grammy and Emmy Awards and numerous private after parties where he has personally met Tom Cruise, Steven Seagal, Pierce Brosnan, Jimmy Smits, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Mario Van Peebles. His highlight moment (off set) was helping Arnold Schwarzenegger move furniture out of the den of his Beverly Hills home so more guests could fit in and walk around without tripping over stuff.
Gerard is a committed and conscientious artist. He is a global ambassador to the United Nations and UNICEF. Gerard was one of the first to organize and ride in the now annual coast-to-coast (Los Angeles, California to New York City) Bike-Aid bicycle trek, also known as “Pedaling for Progress”, which raises awareness and funds for world hunger in third-world and developing nations. Gerard—together with other devoted riders passionate about eradicating world hunger—rose approximately $US 100,000 which was used to start grass roots projects managed by the ODN (Overseas Development network). Gerard pedaled a total of 3,651 miles across rugged terrain traversing the Rocky Mountains, Mohave Desert and Great Plains. He received a congressional honorary award at the United Nations headquarters in New York City for his work and was invited for lunch at the White House where he ate lunch with Senators such as Ted Kennedy (brother of John F. Kennedy), Micky Leland and others. He has been involved in high-level meetings in Washington and New York to address global poverty and world hunger.
Gerard is a dual citizen of both the United States and the EU making it easy for him to work on film projects globally. He is fluent in Dutch & English and has a working knowledge of German, French, Spanish and Italian. A seasoned event professional, Gerard looks forward to participating in sci-fi events in every corner of the globe—and beyond!
